The purpose of the STEM With Me project is to increase equitable access to opportunities for the productive participation of families in the educational experiences of their children in grades K-3. Through STEM With Me, our fundamental goal is to bridge home and school and develop the trust and capacity to work together in support of children’s meaningful learning of STEM subjects and language development. STEM With Me will bring together family members, educators, and researchers in the following ways:

1. Expose families to academic standards and expectations in science, mathematics, and literacy

2. Introduce family members to research-based strategies and resources for supporting their children’s learning outside of school

3. Provide opportunities for parents to practice/rehearse these strategies with mentorship from educators while they and their children engage in STEM activities and engineering design challenges aligned with academic standards

4. Familiarize educators and families with STEM careers and pathways
